Example of Activities

Hose Roll & Bowl

Trainers will show participants the art of rolling hoses, see if you have the skills to bowl out the hose with accuracy. This is the fundamental skill for any firefighter to master their job.

Gas Fire Experience

Can your team respond to a gas fire? Forming a team with 2 hose lines and working in unison, the objective is to get close enough to contain the fire, using teamwork.

Search & Rescue

Ever wondered what it would be like to undertake a search and rescue? Teams will make their way through dark rooms which simulates a smoke-filled building, where they must rely on each other and communicate under pressure to find hidden prizes. Teams must come up with a strategy on how to best tackle this.

Responding to a Simulated Incident

Ever wanted to feel what it is like to respond to an incident? Participants will experience turning out (responding) to a fire call like firefighters do from a fire station. Under supervision and direction from Fire & Rescue NSW firefighters (ComSafe) participants will use firefighting equipment to control and extinguish the incident.
