Course Description

This unit is designed for persons who could be required to make decisions about people’s safety during a workplace emergency and to give instructions in priority order for responding to the emergency incident area. People who undertake this work may act as a primary liaison with emergency services after their arrival.

Course Overview

This is a competency based course, practical skills need to be achieved after classroom presentation; competencies of skills will need to be demonstrated.

At the conclusions of this course, participants will be able to:-

  • Prepare for workplace Emergencies, by gathering information on possible development and characteristics of a typical emergency
  • Apply command control, and coordinate aspects of workplace emergency procedures
  • Control the response to emergency reports, signals and warnings
  • Coordinate reports and results of initial emergency response
  • Conclude incident and report in accordance with workplace procedures

This accredited course is aligned to the following Unit of Competency:-

PUAWER006B – Lean an Emergency Control Organisation

Certification

Successful completion of Units of Competency will result in the awarding of national accredited Statement of Attainment
