Course Description

This course provides participants with the skills to work within the structure of the emergency control organisation, and to implement the emergency response specified in the workplace emergency response procedures, across various emergency situations

Course Overview

This is a competency based course, practical skills need to be achieved after classroom presentation; competencies of skills will need to be demonstrated.

At the conclusions of this course, participants will be able to:-

  • Respond to emergency reports, signals and warnings appropriately
  • Exercise leadership and provide clear direction within a workplace emergency context and under emergency conditions
  • Communicate with a diverse range of people in emergency situations
  • Provide assistance to people in need and carry out a search pattern within an area, applying methods of accounting for people
  • Contribute to emergency management planning
  • Use the equipment assigned to assist with implementing the workplace emergency procedures
  • Define the types of workplace fires and assist with post initial response
